Trafalgar Square, London
23rd–30th September

As part of a campaign to raise awareness against illegal sex trafficking and for the cause of the Helen Bamber Foundation, seven individually conceived transport containers were installed in Trafalgar Square under the title The Journey. Conceived by Emma Thompson and Sam Roddick, the themes of these containers represent the seven stages of suffering experienced by victims of sex trafficking: Hope, The Journey, The Uniform, The Bedroom, The Customer, The Stigma and Resurrection. Kapoor’s piece, Stigma, was designed to highlight the disorientation and the subsequent void felt by victims of sex trafficking.

The Helen Bamber Foundation campaigns for the rehabilitation of human rights violations victims. The Journey, run by the Helen Bamber Foundation, is a campaign against sex trafficking and is involved with the rights of prostitutes.
